Review: Kill For Me Kill For You

Synopsis

One dark evening on New York City’s Upper West Side, two strangers meet by chance. Over drinks, Amanda and Wendy realize they have much in common, including an intense desire for revenge against the men who destroyed their families. As they talk into the night, they come up with the perfect plan: if you kill for me, I’ll kill for you.

In another part of the city, Ruth is home alone when the beautiful brownstone she shares with her husband, Scott, is invaded. She’s attacked by a man with piercing blue eyes, who disappears into the night. Will she ever be able to feel safe again while the blue-eyed stranger is out there?

Kill For Me Kill For You was a book club pick this month for a group I am in. It’s a psychological thriller that had me hooked right from the start. Originally, I downloaded this on my Kindle but found myself busy with housework so I ended up listening to it on Spotify.

Initial Impressions

One of the things that kept me engaged was the quick pacing of the story. The way the story was told – giving us a little bit of each character’s perspective at a time – kept me constantly wondering how everything would eventually fit together. The suspense was built masterfully and the unveiling of the connections between the characters was satisfying, to say the least.

There was a point in the plot when I thought I knew where it was going and was almost disappointed, but the twist came just in the nick of time!

Conclusion

While the story was engaging and surprising, I couldn’t give it a full 5 stars. There were a couple of issues with the ending that felt inconsistent. All that said, Kill For Me Kill For You is an excellent read and would be perfect for fans of fast paced and twisty thrillers.
